Project Description
Allsteel, Inc. hired cmQue, inc. to assist senior management in making strategic decisions affecting its supply chain, including sizing and location of new facilities, assignment of service areas, and evaluation of alternative distribution strategies. Allsteel is a leading manufacturer that designs, builds, and delivers workplace furniture solutions with advanced functionality and lifetime durability. Allsteel is part of the HNI Corporation, the second largest office furniture manufacturer in North America.

Role of Firm
The objectives of the project were to use network modeling and analysis to support key management decisions affecting Allsteel's supply chain, as well as identify short-term opportunities for improving the flow of products. As Prime Consultant, cmQue, inc. managed the project team, directed the data collection and analysis, developed the optimization models, analyzed the strategic scenarios, and made recommendations regarding the future configuration of the distribution network. cmQue also assisted Allsteel in the selection of the optimization tool.
