Client: Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (formerly Council of Logistics Management)
Location: Chicago, Illinois

Project Description
The Council of Logistics Management (CLM) Research Strategies Committee was studying the need to develop some form of interactive educational tool, which would encompass the operation of an entire supply chain. The committee believed that such an interactive educational tool would be of great benefit to both practitioners and academics in demonstrating the interdependencies of the processes that occur throughout the operation of a supply chain. The committee sponsored an exploratory study to determine the availability of these educational tools, their general structure, targeted audience, and perceived value and success.

Role of Firm
Manheim and Associates retained the services of cmQue (formerly CM Technologies) to be part of the research team. The research tasks included a literature review, a survey questionnaire, assessment of the potential interest from academic institutions and the corporate market, and the development of a strategy to integrate the various service offerings. In addition to being the co-investigator in the project, cmQue also developed the sampling plan, executed a mail-in survey, coded the survey responses, developed the study database, and wrote the final report. As part of the project deliverables, the research team also developed a compendium of interactive supply chain educational tools. CLM made the compendium available to the CLM membership through its web site.
