Project Description
The Cook-DuPage Corridor Market Study area extends 25 miles westward from the City of Chicago to western DuPage County. Situated on the Eisenhower Expressway (I-290) and the East-West Tollway (I-88), the corridor is contained between Metra’s Milwaukie District-West and Burlington Northern Santa-Fe lines.

The objective of this project was to examine the Cook-DuPage corridor with emphasis placed on current mobility conditions from a multi-modal perspective. The study aims to comprehensively illustrate existing socioeconomic and travel conditions, as well as expected future trends within the Cook-DuPage study area, in order to highlight mobility deficiencies. The Market Analysis will utilize data on resident and employment profiles, existing highway and transit infrastructure conditions, corridor travel patterns, and corresponding level of service provision. By quantitatively and spatially documenting these data, effective and feasible alternatives will be formulated to better address the corridor’s mobility needs.

Role of Firm
As a sub-consultant to Cambridge Systematics, cmQue was responsible for developing and geocoding an employer database, identifying and assessing the study corridor’s major activity centers, and quantifying the travel impact of each major activity center on existing travel segments. The results of the analyses will be included in the Travel Market Analysis final report as well as a number of technical memoranda documenting the study.
