Project Description
The United States Postal Service (USPS) was exploring ways to control its operating costs. A consulting team from Accenture, i2 Technologies, and cmQue was involved in a pilot project to demonstrate the benefits of analytical methodologies and network optimization models for redesigning the USPS distribution network.
Role of Firm
Accenture retained the services of cmQue to provide subject-matter expertise in developing network models, and in determining the number and location of mail sorting facilities for United States Postal Service's distribution network. cmQue's responsibilities included the creation of conceptual models for network design, analysis and verification of data for modeling purposes, and the development of models to guide strategic decision-making for the USPS. The results of the pilot project were presented to senior management of USPS.
